Medical & AI Disclaimer
Last updated: 21 September 2026
Macrovelo provides lifestyle, wellness, and educational tools — not medical care. This disclaimer is important and explains the limits of what the Service does and your responsibilities when using it. Please read it carefully.
This disclaimer forms part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service. By using the Service you acknowledge and agree to it. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Not medical advice
All content provided through the Service — including meal plans, workout plans, recipes, educational articles, the AI coach, food estimates, and progress insights — is for general informational and educational purposes only.
It is not medical, nutritional, diagnostic, psychological, or treatment advice, and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional who knows your individual circumstances. Using the Service does not create a doctor–patient, dietitian–client, or any other professional relationship between you and us. Macrovelo is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, monitor, or prevent any disease or health condition.
2. Consult a professional before you start
Changes to diet or exercise — including a ketogenic, low-carbohydrate, Mediterranean, balanced, high-protein, or any other program — are not suitable for everyone and can carry risks for some people. You should consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting, changing, or stopping any diet or exercise programme based on the Service.
This is especially important — and you should obtain individual medical advice first — if any of the following apply to you:
- You are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning a pregnancy
- You are under 18 years of age
- You have or have had diabetes or take medication that affects blood sugar (for example insulin or sulfonylureas)
- You have or have had kidney, liver, gallbladder, pancreatic, heart, or thyroid conditions
- You have or have had an eating disorder or a history of disordered eating
- You have high or low blood pressure or take medication for it
- You take any prescription medication, or have any chronic medical condition or allergy
3. Listen to your body and stop if unwell
Stop using the Service and seek medical help promptly if you feel unwell, experience symptoms that concern you, or have a reaction you do not understand. Do not ignore, avoid, or delay seeking professional medical advice because of something you have read or received through the Service.
4. Allergies, intolerances, and dietary needs
You are responsible for confirming that any food, recipe, or suggestion is safe and appropriate for you before buying, preparing, or eating it. Always read ingredient lists and labels yourself and check for allergens, intolerances, and cross-contamination risks.
Meal plans, recipes, and scanner results may not identify every ingredient or allergen, may not reflect manufacturer changes, and may not account for cross-contamination. We are not responsible for allergic or adverse reactions arising from foods you choose to consume.
5. AI features and the photo scanner are estimates
The AI coach, meal-plan generation, and the photo-based food scanner use automated, probabilistic systems. Their output is an estimate and can be inaccurate, incomplete, or wrong. Carbohydrate, macro, and calorie figures are approximations, not laboratory measurements, and a program-fit verdict is a general guide only.
You must not rely on AI output or scanner estimates for medical decisions — for example, calculating insulin or other medication doses, or managing a medical condition. When precision matters, verify nutritional information against official labels and weigh or measure portions independently. Always apply your own judgement and, where appropriate, professional advice.
6. No guarantee of results
Health, weight-loss, fitness, and wellness results vary significantly from person to person and depend on many factors outside our control. We do not promise or guarantee any specific outcome, and any examples, statistics, or testimonials describe individual experiences that are not typical and are not a guarantee that you will achieve the same or similar results.
7. Assumption of risk and responsibility
You understand that any diet or lifestyle change carries inherent risk, and you voluntarily assume responsibility for the choices you make using the Service. To the fullest extent permitted by law, and subject to the liability provisions and your mandatory consumer rights set out in our Terms of Service, you agree that you use the Service and act on its content at your own risk, and that we are not liable for health outcomes resulting from your reliance on meal suggestions, AI output, or other content.
8. Third-party information
The Service may reference or link to third-party content, products, or services for convenience. We do not endorse, and are not responsible for, the accuracy or safety of third-party information, and any reliance on it is at your own risk.
9. Medical emergencies
The Service is not designed for, and must not be used in, medical emergencies. If you think you may have a medical emergency, or are experiencing a serious or life-threatening symptom, call your local emergency number or contact a doctor or emergency service immediately. Do not rely on the Service for urgent or emergency needs.
